Deep
freeze warehouse in Holland
The ChristianSalvesen logitics companyIn fact, there are a number of fire risks to consider in such facilities: the pallets are made of wood, the synthetic insulation material is combustible, and even the stored goods can burn. At temperatures of around -30° Celsius and high wind velocities, ice forms on conventional pointed fire detectors and prevents smoke from entering the detectors if they are not heated. The detector heating, however, creates a heat buffer around the detector that hinders the fire smoke from reaching the detector. Also, performance checks of fire detectors in deep-freeze warehouses are very complicated and costly because these warehouses are usually very high buildings. Securiton’s Dutch partner Ajax Brandbeveiliging B.V. implemented such a fire detection solution at Christian Salvesen, an international logistics company. The company decided to equip its freezer rooms with a special smoke detection system because previously one of them had been destroyed by fire in just 20 minutes due to combustible insulation materials and combustible storage goods. 42 units of Securiton’s RAS 52B smoke aspiration systems had been installed on that project. The best possible detection properties, the option of being able to perform maintenance work and performance checks from the ground, and setup costs that are comparable to those of standard fire detection systems are the key advantages of the RAS 52B smoke aspiration system that make it the fire protection system of choice for so many deep-freeze warehouses around the world. Securiton’s RAS 52B smoke aspiration system is a product that is specifically designed to contend with the special conditions in deep-freeze warehouses. Utilized products:
