Auckland International Airport Limited Trial

Introduction

Auckland International Airport Limited (AIAL) is the prime International gateway to New Zealand and her largest city (Auckland) serving a population of over 1 million people. AIAL recently installed a new air bridge at gate 29 of the Domestic Terminal Building to cater for Boeing B737 aircraft. Due to apron constraints at this gate it is crucial that aircraft docking be most accurate to prevent incursions. With the excellent results achieved from the Wellington trial, the DuraVisionTM ADGM was selected and acquired by AIAL after discussion and recommendations from Air New Zealand.

Expert staff from Bennett Mirror Technologies were made available for the installation which included the fabrication of the supporting structure for the ADGM and final commissioning of the system. The DuraVisionTM ADGM was the natural choice considering the simplicity, robustness, acceptance by senior pilots and the underlying economical benefits to the airport.
