RAS 52B point-to-point fire detector system has the task to take continuous air samples from the room to be monitored with ambient temperatures below 0°C (cold store) via a tube network and feed it to a smoke detector. RAS 52B consists of a detector box and a sensor tube network. In the detector box is a fan, a PC motherboard and a smoke detector insert. The air stream monitor on the PC motherboard recognizes any blockages such as icing up of the suction openings - and tube breaks in the sensor tube network. The sensor tube network is made of hard PVC or PP tubes with a nominal width of 20 mm and an external diameter of 25 mm.

In the tube network are symmetrically arranged suction openings which are dimensioned in a manner that that each opening takes in the same amount of air. The extractors opening (suction points) are equipped with defrosting heaters which are activated as soon as the openings are blocked by the formation of ice. The sensor tube network can be arranged in I, U, H or T shape.
